It's very easy to imagine that the behind-the-scenes work can sometimes get overlooked. In our communications we share a wide range of prominent solutions that enable emergency responders to engage in the most realistic possible exercises. But what are the technical aspects that play a role before we are able to create these great exercise solutions, and what do we have to do before your training equipment is ready to use and delivered to your doorstep? In order to properly answer these questions, we're taking you on a little behind-the-scenes tour of our workplace, home to our Technical Services team.
Technical expertise
Is the technical services department of an organisation always dull and boring? Well, that certainly isn't the case at FireWare! Assembly, maintenance, logistics, support for trade fairs and great projects – that's all the things that our technical staff get up to.
We assemble training equipment and material in full in-house, right here in our own workshop. It goes without saying that some products are a little more complicated than others, such as our Incident Server and Incident Client. Take a look under the 'hood' and all you'll see is a mass of wires, but our Technical Services staff know the exact layout of the wires and make sure that the equipment is running safely and properly!
Major projects
Aside from the logistics, assembly and maintenance of the training equipment that we sell, Technical Services is also closely involved in our rental department processes. When major projects come up that require our rental equipment, such as tunnel-based exercises, then our staff help to create the most realistic possible scenario. They also do as much preparatory work as possible before the equipment is deployed, allowing the on-site staging to be created quickly and smoothly.
When we create new training concepts we can always count on the skills of our technical team. This means anything from handling the lighting effects during a training experience through to creating props for an educational escape room. But the team also likes to get to work in our own building too, with our great new studio being a perfect example of what they do!
Maintenance and repairs
From the perspective of safety, training equipment that contains electrical components must be periodically inspected under the NEN 3140 standard. This entails measuring whether the plugs and other parts are still working properly. We also perform maintenance on location, such as at training centres that we have constructed, which means the owners can rest assured they have a safe and properly operational concept at their disposal!
Any technical requirements?
No two days are the same for our Technical Services team, which means a lot of variety and wonderful challenges. If you have a burning question for our technical team, then don't hesitate to email them at info@fireware.nl or call them at 088 252 6000. We'd love to help!
