Near the Gent Harbour, the training centre De Nestor is located. This centre specializes in refresher courses for truck and bus drivers. The focus is on realistic training solutions and that is precisely why the CEO Hervé Buisset turned to FireWare.
“We seek to offer realistic training solutions for all our courses and therefore, we are looking for a suitable partner who can provide us with the necessary means. We were positively surprised by the quick delivery and excellent service. The Belgian consultant helped us to develop a good concept that allowed us to realize our projects and still respect our limited budget”, explained Buisset.
On the premises, there is a tractor that is used to stage a burning tire. The rear tire is equipped with an Antari Waterproof smoke generator, so that trainings won’t depend on the weather. When adding fire paste, the scenario reflects a realistic fire. The cabin has also been fully transformed into a training facility. A small fire is staged inside the cabin by using smoke, silk flames and by adding sound effects.
De Nestor also offers courses that don’t require full staging, like first aid courses and trainings with small extinguishers. FireWare has advised the training centre on these courses as well and the choice was made to use resuscitation dummies and an extinction trainer from FireSales.
And Buisset doesn’t intend to leave the staging at that: “We are planning future projects that will undoubtably involve FireWare’s expertise. Their extensive know-how and broad range of simulation and staging material allows us to offer our trainees fun and realistic training solutions.”
