CREATING REALISTIC TRAINING ENVIRONMENTS

Train in a smart-looking suit

DeltaSafe has been training hundreds of security guards every year since 1987. “For a security guard, emergency response is a basic part of the training. We used to outsource this training, but with a few hundred students a year it became more profitable to acquire it in-house, ”says director Steven Boersma. DeltaSafe has now added emergency response training to the diverse package of training that the company offers.

After moving to Amsterdam Noord, DeltaSafe decided to set up part of the building as a simulation space. “So I needed training equipment for that. I got a tip by one of my FireWare instructors. I went to have a look and I liked what I saw there, ”says an enthusiastic Boersma.

Rent

Boersma then bought some of the training products from FireWare, but decided to rent a large portion of the simulation resources for a longer period. "That way, after a year, I can decide to use other staging materials, which makes it easy for me to adjust scenarios."

Boersma believes that an additional advantage is that he does not have to worry about the maintenance of the devices. Due to the rental construction, he can always put the very latest staging gadgets in his simulation space. The FireWare rental fleet is regularly updated.

Management

The emergency response simulation room includes a collapsed warehouse and a hotel room. An office, the canteen and the reception of the building can also be used for the simulation of fires and accidents. Control is centrally organized from a control room. In this room, with monitors and a panel to operate the staging materials, the actions of the student are followed during an exercise. Not only the teacher, but also fellow students can watch the exercise that their "colleague" is performing. This considerably increases the interactivity of the emergency response training. The instructor has a good overview and can start, stop or aggravate scenarios from here. By means of an installed sound system in all rooms, the teacher can also give instructions to the students.

Favorite

Boerma’s favorite sense is the sound. “It is the combination of products that stimulate all senses. But sound is such a realistic addition. When people suddenly hear an explosion or collapse, they are really shocked. The sounds are also very different. There are even calls for help in Arabic. ”

Satisfied

Boersma is very satisfied with all the possibilities: “The great thing about these simulation tools is that they are very realistic and nobody gets dirty with them. So you can practice in a smart-looking suit with us! ”The registrations for this season show that this method works. The staff of various large hotels also come to follow an emergency response training at DeltaSafe.
