Take Your Water Rescue Training to the Next Level

The Advanced Water Rescue Manikin is a highly sophisticated training tool that provides a hyper-realistic simulation of a drowning victim. This manikin incorporates over 25 years of experience in producing manikins for the medical and rescue industries. The torso, developed by the medical simulation experts at Lifecast Body Simulation, allows for the practice of all the techniques required in a drowning rescue. The rest of the durable body is manufactured by Ruth Lee, designed to simulate an unconscious floating casualty.

No More Switching Manikins During Training

Typically, two types of manikins are used during a water rescue training exercise. First, a water rescue manikin is placed in the scenario to simulate an (unconscious) drowning victim. Once trainees have rescued the victim from the water, a resuscitation manikin is usually swapped in. The Advanced Water Rescue Manikin eliminates this switching step, allowing the training session to continue seamlessly, maintaining intensity and keeping trainees focused.

Simulate Primary and Secondary Drowning

The Advanced Water Rescue Manikin simulates hydrostatic pressure on the victim’s body. This manikin is suitable for simulating both primary (dry) drowning and secondary (wet) drowning. A three-way tube is located under the torso, allowing the instructor to inject fluids to simulate foaming from the victim’s mouth. This feature is a breakthrough for water rescue training exercises!

The manikin is suitable for practicing basic resuscitation exercises. The sternum in the child torso can be compressed 4 to 5 centimeters, while in the adult torso, it compresses 5 to 6 cm. Both torsos include a built-in recoil, providing a realistic chest compression experience. Additionally, the manikin can be used to practice intubation techniques.

Adjust the Manikin’s Buoyancy

On its own, the Advanced Water Rescue Manikin floats with shoulders and head above water at a 45-degree angle. This angle is maintained even in rough water conditions. There are plastic clasps between the manikin’s legs that can be fastened to keep the legs together. Pockets on the arms, legs, chest, and back allow for the addition of extra weights, enabling you to adjust the manikin’s buoyancy angle. The Advanced Water Rescue Manikin will sink with the addition of more than 10 kilograms of weight; in this case, a life jacket is recommended.

Realistic Body Proportions

The Advanced Water Rescue Manikin is available with a dry weight of 12 kilograms (child) and 50 kilograms (adult) and features a realistic ratio of length to weight. The adult manikin comes with soft shoes or boots with special water drainage.
