One of FireWare's most loyal team members is no more. Djoek was always there. Ever since puppyhood, she was regularly deployed in exercises. But, above all, as an office dog, she was the support and anchor for the FireWare team.
No one was as good at helping put things into perspective as Djoek. But she was also a great teacher in being happy about small things, being happy about bigger things, the importance of sleep, demanding attention when you want to be seen, or just "being".
She had a strong preference for eating and playing. She also knew how to indicate very well when she wanted to be left alone. "Get of my back right now", was one of her mottos. But, above all, she was very sweet and loyal without being slavish.
She made a very successful contribution to preventing food waste within the company.
Djoek was allowed to live to be almost 16.5 years old. She died "in harness" while doing what she loved most: running & swimming.
We will miss her greatly within the team.
