CREATING REALISTIC TRAINING ENVIRONMENTS

FireWare at the seminar of “Het Oranje Kruis”

05 November 2019

On November 2, 2019, the annual seminar of “Het Oranje Kruis” was organised in the NBC in Nieuwegein, the Netherlands. Het Oranje Kruis – The Orange Cross –  is an independent certificated authority in the field of first aid in the Netherlands. Over 750 First Aid instructors from all over the country came together for a day of vocational training and inspiration.

Theory and practice

FireWare was allowed to help the process along. During two fully booked lectures, we gave the participants an introduction to the theory behind the realism of an exercise. We showed how this can be applied on a large and small scale.

We were very happy with the support of Wendy Kluft from Preventief. Preventief makes use of various FireWare training solutions in practice. She shared her experiences and insights, allowing participants to build a bridge between theory and practice even better.

Heart warming help

In addition to the lectures, FireWare was also present hosting a beautiful booth. There, visitors could meet the FireWare Interactive Incident Trainer (F.I.I.T.). In this unique training experience, the students witness an accident, are challenged to respond and handing over to the emergency services.

Apart from the F.I.I.T., our team also brought an extensive collection of training materials. Visitors to our booth could experience those materials to their heart’s content. At times it was so busy that our stand crew struggled to talk to everyone visiting. How wonderful it is, that existing relationships spontaneously stept in and started explaining about the training materials and their own experiences. These are the moments our FireWare employees are genuinely proud!

We certainly look back on a hugely successful event. A big thank you to the organization of Het Oranje Kruis for the great efforts they made. See you next year!
