In times of corona, it is a real challenge to design the training programs for emergency assistance and first aid in a challenging way. But, for an organization like CURA, with the ambition to provide the first emergency assistance training on Mars in 2170, shouldn't it be possible now, in 2020, to find an original way to give substance to this issue…?
Together, we succeeded! In an intensive collaboration, CURA and FireWare went in search of a solution that is cool, spectacular and a real experience: The BHV (Dutch for emergency assistance) Pop-up location.
A glimpse of the future
The concept of the CURA GROUP is constantly evolving. The first phase is now operational. From here we will expand to the second phase, where there will be much more interaction. As a result, the scenario will bring the training to life. And what the third and fourth phase will be… Only time will tell! We learn, experiment and adapt.
There are always a thousand reasons for not doing something. However, it is much more fun to look at the reasons for doing it. The CURA Group had the guts to share a sky-high ambition. This allowed the FireWare team to contribute ideas, design and a helping hand to realize. Within the deadline and within budget.
WOW effect
At the BHV Pop-up location, the student is welcomed by entering a tunnel. In the tunnel a WOW effect is created by means of light, sound, decor and effects. At the end of the tunnel, a video explains how the day will continue and what is expected of them by means of a video.
At the next station, the students receive the necessary course materials, including a tablet with which they can work independently. Using color codes the tablet indicates in which zone the student can take place. These colors appear in different places, to make it as clear as possible for the students. Experience is key for all zones. And that without making concessions to achieving the learning and teaching goals.
When the student has arrived in the correct zone, he or she can start with the course material on the tablet. When this material has been completed, the student can decide to practice in the Practice Zone. When the student feels confident enough, the student enters the Competence Zone. There, the student uses scenarios to show the instructor that he or she is competent. If that is the case, the student will leave the BHV Pop-up location with a unique emergency assistance experience!
Train safely
The emergency assistance pop-up locations of the CURA Group will travel throughout the Netherlands in the coming period and will be continuously adapted to the latest COVID guidelines. This way students can work safely, effectively and spectacularly!
