The Hazard Rating Diamond, or NFPA-704 diamond, allows first responders to assess the hazards of a certain chemical substance. It is a convenient means to identify health risks, flammability and reactivity hazards of hazardous materials (Hazmats). The NFPA diamond is particularly useful in fire fighters’ trainings. The fire fighters can quickly establish the expected reaction of a chemical compound when in contact with water or assess the appropriate extinguisher.
First responders are trained in recognizing the different indications of the NFPA diamond and need to keep their knowledge up-to-date. Therefore, training will benefit from danger indications being integrated in the scenario. For instance, a NFPA Diamond could be placed on a tank or a pipe. When changing the indications, the same scenario can be used for different trainings while it will lead to different deployments and outcomes!
This set, comprising 27 different elements, is fully magnetic and consists of the NFPA Diamond as well as the numbers 0 to 4 in the colours yellow, red and blue. The special indications are in white. All magnetic signs are flexible which allows them to be applied to virtually any given metal surface. The set is delivered in a convenient plastic box for storage and transport.
