Prepare your trainees for healthcare sector duties

Healthcare professionals have an increased risk of back injuries as a result of healthcare duties provided in an ineffective manner. This patient care manikin was especially designed for the training of patient handling.

Prevent possible injuries through effective training

The Patient Handling Manikin is a versatile dummy that can be used for all sorts of trainings within the healthcare and hospital sector. This manikin prepares trainees for the various lifting and moving duties they will have to perform at work, like early mobilisation, emergency evacuations and handling lifting equipment. Have your trainees experience their nursing activities in a safe and accurate manner.

Healthcare professionals are at higher risk of incurring back injuries than professionals employed in other sectors. Therefore, proper preparation for the physical demanding labour is essential. The manikin has realistic weight proportions, thus simulating an actual patient. As the manikin’s back is made of plastic, it can be seated in an upright position in a bed or in a wheelchair. When a lifting machine is used, the manikin simulates an unconscious patient or victim, depending on the situation. Constructed with plastic strips in the thigh to prevent too much bend when hoisting. There is also an immobilisation collar available to trigger the healthcare professional to apply proper measures. The arms and legs are detachable at the shoulder and knee respectively, meaning you can simulate an amputee in training. Velcro straps at the wrist allow to keep the arms together or to let the manikin hold onto the sling.

The Patient Handling Manikin is available with a weight of 30 kilogram and 50 kilogram. The 30 kilogram manikin comes with weighted and soft feet. The weighted feet are for bed work, or when using a wheelchair. The unweighted are for sling/hoist work. The 50 kilogram manikin comes with weighted feet only.
