2000 police officers participated with a major exercise in London at the beginning of December 2015. A hostage-taking by extremists was practiced in an office building during this exercise and included the simulation of a large number of victims.

One of the tools used for this simulation was Ruth Lee’s mass-casualty dummies. These are ideal as a result of their low weight and realistic volume. Cards are used to create a victim’s image, allowing for triage to be practiced, for example. These dolls are also ideal for practicing large-scale victim movements. Plus the entire situation becomes even more realistic by dressing the dolls! The dummies from Ruth Lee’s Duty Range were also used, to allow for training with a realistic weight.
