FireWare buys its electricity “at source”. In our case only a few kilometres from our premises from a windmill in Middenmeer. This windmill forms part of Bernard and Karin Kadijk’s farm. Their windmill produces more energy than they need.
The “at source” initiative allows us to buy our energy directly from them. This means we can rest assured the energy we are using has really been produced in a green manner, plus there is no “messing around” with certificates. A great feeling!
We also purchase our gas “at source”. It’s unfortunately not possible to buy “green gas”. But we can buy CO2 compensated gas in accordance with the gold standard. The strictest quality mark where CO2 compensation is concerned. This way of working allows us to combat the deforestation in Kikonda.
