CREATING REALISTIC TRAINING ENVIRONMENTS

Using the Nebula AR to train in a smoke-filled environment – perfect for observing and effective for the participant!

10 February 2020

In many parts of Europe rooms are still filled with smoke so that trainees can learn to work with a breathing apparatus while their vision is obscured. This approach might be very educational for the participant, but the instructor will struggle to check up on them.

Thanks to the Nebula AR electronic blindfold mask, the instructor can restrict the view of the students  but still watch them, allowing for proper observations and evaluations.

Greater or less visibility at the touch of a button

Another advantage of the Nebula AR is that the instructor can easily adjust the smoke density. If the student goes upward, visibility decreases, and the closer they get to the floor the greater the visibility. All at the press of a button! The instructor can control up to four groups of masks by remote control!

In the following video we can see an exercise in a simulation cage by Italian fire-fighters, working together with our distributor, SoFraPa. It's a great example of how the Nebula AR can be used in a confined space.
